THE OLD MAN As I came out of the supermarket that sunny day, pushing my cart of groceries towards my car, I saw an old man with the hood of his car up and a lady sitting inside the car, with the door open.           The old man was looking at the engine. I put my groceries away in my car, and continued to watch the old gentleman from about twenty five feet away.          I saw a young man in his early twenties with a grocery bag in his arm walking towards the old man. The old gentleman saw him coming too, and took a few steps towards him.    I saw the old gentleman point to his open hood and say something. The young man put his grocery bag into what looked like a brand new Cadillac Escalade. He then turned back to the old man. I heard him yell at the old gentleman saying:     'You shouldn't even be allowed to drive a car at your age.' And then with a wave of his hand, he got in his car and peeled rubber out of the parking lot.          I saw the old gentleman pull out his handkerchief, and mop his brow as he went back to his car and again looked at the engine.           He then went to his wife and spoke with her; he appeared to tell her it would be okay. I had seen enough, and I approached the old man. He saw me coming and stood straight, and as I got near him I said, 'Looks like you're having a problem.'          He smiled sheepishly, and quietly nodded his head. I looked under the hood myself, and knew that whatever the problem was, it was beyond me. Looking around, I saw a gas station up the road, and I told the old man that I would be right back. I drove to the station and went inside. I saw three attendants working on cars. I approached one of them, and related the problem the old man had with his car. I offered to pay them if they could follow me back down and help him.          The old man had pushed the heavy car under the shade of a tree and appeared to be comforting his wife. When he saw us he straightened up and thanked me for my help. As the mechanics diagnosed the problem (overheated engine), I spoke with the old gentleman.          When I shook hands with him earlier, he had noticed my Marine Corps ring and had commented about it, telling me that he had been a Marine too. I nodded and asked the usual question, 'What outfit did you serve with?'     He had mentioned that he served with the first Marine Division at Tarawa, Saipan, Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal .     He had hit all the big ones and retired from the Corps after the war was over. As we talked we heard the car engine come on and saw the mechanics lower the hood. They came over to us as the old man reached for his wallet, but was stopped by me. I told him I would just put the bill on my AAA card.     He still reached for the wallet and handed me a card that I assumed had his name and address on it and I stuck it in my pocket. We all shook hands all around again, and I said my goodbye's to his wife.          I then told the two mechanics that I would follow them back up to the station. Once at the station, I told them that they had interrupted their own jobs to come along with me and help the old man. I said I wanted to pay for the help, but they refused to charge me          One of them pulled out a card from his pocket, looking exactly like the card the old man had given to me. Both of the men told me then that they were Marine Corps Reserves. Once again we shook hands all around and as I was leaving, one of them told me I should look at the card the old man had given to me. I said I would and drove off.          For some reason I had gone about two blocks, when I pulled over and took the card out of my pocket and looked at it for a long, long time. The name of the old gentleman was on the card in golden leaf and under his name was written: 'Congressional Medal of Honor Society.'         I sat there motionless, looking at the card and reading it over and over. I looked up from the card and smiled to no one but myself and marveled that on this day, four Marines had all come together because one of us needed help. He was an old man all right, but it felt good to have stood next to greatness and courage, and an honor to have been in his presence. Remember, OLD men like him gave you FREEDOMfor America . Thanks to those who served and still serve, and to all of those who supported them, and who continue to support them.       America is not at war. The U.S. Military is at war. Americais at the Mall. If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them!        Remember, Freedom isn't Free. Thousands have paid the price, so that you can enjoy what you have today.          LET'S DO THIS: JUST 19 WORDS:       GOD OUR FATHER, WALK THROUGH MY HOUSE AND TAKE AWAY ALL MY WORRIES; AND PLEASE WATCH OVER AND HEAL MY FAMILY; AND PLEASE PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS, AND WATCH OVER OUR TROOPS, WHO ARE DEFENDING THOSE FREEDOMS. AMEN This prayer is so powerful. Pass this prayer to 12 people.

Time To Aim

We all know now that our president avoids journalism and /ists, and that he reads The Rolling Stone's magazine as Gospel. Everybody now know that, and can see that with their own eyes and ears! I would follow a blog like this and follow it secretly if I had any sense. Free is no longer! This is an email letter I subscribe to some thing you should know:

Though the pressure activists placed on Congress and theNRA last week made Nancy Pelosi postpone the vote on the DISCLOSE Act, she's now scheduled a vote for this Wednesday.

It's vital that every Second Amendment activist understand what's at stake here, and act today!

We're not just talking about legislation that would shut down groups in Washington, D.C.

The DISCLOSE Act will kill off every state-level association and group in the entire country, while keeping major left-wing radical groups intact - (and, with their exemption, the NRA).

This is not only counterproductive to our liberties, but tactically it's just plain stupid.

The enemies of freedom will kill off, one by one, every pro-freedom group in America, until there is only one.... and then they'll kill them off, with no one left to defend the Second Amendment.

Any kind of "deal" (NRA Executive V.P. Wayne LaPierreadmitted the deal on the Lars Larsen radio show) with Pelosi, Reid, and Schumer isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

They are only attempting to divide the gun community (which the NRA exemption deal does) in order to conquer us.

And why are the Dems so anxious to pass this bill?

It's the best way they can pass gun control.  Remove gun owners' voices from the fight and it means there's nothing stopping a repeal of your gun rights.

Why did Democrat leadership cut the deal with the NRA? There's only one reason -- they didn't have the votes to pass it.

And now that the NRA has it's exemption (from the draconian free speech limits of the DISCLOSE Act), Nancy Pelosi,Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer believe they can pass this outrageous restriction of your rights to free speech.

Again: the only weapon gun owners have to save their gun rights is their First Amendment right to free speech.

No amount of gymnastics by NRA leadership nor by politicians can smooth over this absolutely traitorous deal with the devil.

What can you do?

First, call the NRA (even if you called them last week) to tell them you don't support their despicable deal on the DISCLOSE Act.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls.But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq ... Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse or Congress is this --you cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of politicians .... it creates a, hostile work environment.

Also, think about this ... if you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone -- YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM! It is time for America to speak up!

If George W. Bush had misspelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoes as proof of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America , would you have approved.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 9 months -- so you'll have three years and three months to come up with an answer.

    Oh boy,  we are in very serious trouble as a nation! To begin with, the president was elected souly (pun) on the fact that he is (and I'll say...) a person of color! That's just for starters. All the democrats, all across this nation thought this was the answer to all their prayers. From state to state, they all marched in to the pollsto vote in a "Vaque" candidate to rule and intercede for the masses. Not a one person ever thought that there might be a problem, ever! The salvation of this nation! He's BLACK! LET"S GET HIM! ( Personally I voted for the "Mac" the "Woman" was going to be my second choice! Hey, I'll jump the fence if I have to save this nation, but it's too late for that. We as Americans HAVE TO correct this! If there is a God still, of any importance to this country please step in!
    Fifteen years ago there might have been a need for a reforendum. Maybe even up to five years ago. Today, now, after flooding the country with trillions of dollars in backward debt, inundating Europe and our allies in depressioN, excluding the POOR AND INFIRMED from the constitution and ALL it's laws, Snubbing ALL the inner cities and their youths, NOW, NO! It's well, WAY PAST the need! This IS CRIPPLING, to say the least! This BILL, VOTE, LAW, WILL NOT ONLY HURT, but acutally distroy the nation. Is this what they want? For the poor to go away? The only ones to remain will be the rich. All and every one who has any thing to hide, must leave. (Like HE should do this!)
    If this is not stopped dead in it's track, in the near future, there will have to be inforcement to arrest and confine, it will be a mess! As it is, th FBI is all ready hiring for those positions!
    Find another country folks! Or go back to where you or your parents came from (or your origins). Money is of no value anymore, maybe land is, not even gold is going to be worth it's weight!  China, as much as I love China, owns MOST of the gold (from what I've heard). I'm sure they plan on flooding our economy with it eventually. That would mean another disaster for us! Canada is nice this time of the year. China, Russia, anywhere but here! This is just short of killing us for the space. Get your past ports ready to say BYE!

809 Area Code
    I actually received a call last week from the 809 area code. The woman said 'Hey,this is Karen .. Sorry I missed you--get back to us quickly. I have something important to tell you.' Then she repeated a phone number beginning with 809 We did not respond.
    Then this week, we received the following e-mail:

809,  284,  AND  876 !!
    THIS IS VERY IMPORT ANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY AT&T. DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809
    This one is being distributed all over the US . This is pretty scary, especially given the way they try to get you to call.
Be sure you read this and pass it on.
    They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc
    In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls.
    If you call from the U.S. , you will apparently be charged $2425 per-minute.
    you'll get a long recorded message. The point is, they will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges.

WHY IT WORKS:

The 809 area code is located in the Dominican Republic ....

    The charges afterward can become a real nightmare. That's because you did actually make the call. If you complain, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get involved and will most likely tell you that they are simply providing the billing for the foreign company. You'll end up dealing with a foreign company that argues they have done nothing wrong.

    With the U.S. Census process beginning, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) advises people to be cooperative, but cautious, so as not to become a victim of fraud or identity theft. The first phase of the 2010 U.S. Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country. Eventually, more than 140,000 U.S. Census workers will count every person in the United States and will gather information about every person living at each address including name, age, gender, race, and other relevant data.

    The big question is - how do you tell the difference between a U.S. Census worker and a con artist? BBB offers the following advice:
** If a U.S. Census worker knocks on your door, they will have a badge, a handheld device, a Census Bureau canvas bag, and a confidentiality notice. Ask to see their identification and their badge before answering their questions. However, you should never invite anyone you don't know into your home.
** Census workers are currently only knocking on doors to verify address information. Do not give your Social Security number, credit card or banking information to anyone, even if they claim they need it for the U.S. > Census. REMEMBER, NO MATTER WHAT THEY ASK, YOU REALLY ONLY NEED TO TELL THEM HOW MANY PEOPLE LIVE AT YOUR ADDRESS.
    While the Census Bureau might ask for basic financial information, such as a salary range, YOU DON'T HAVE TO ANSWER ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT YOUR FINANCIAL SITUATION. The Census Bureau will not ask for Social Security, bank account, or credit card numbers, nor will employees solicit donations. Any one asking for that information is NOT with the Census Bureau.
    AND REMEMBER, THE CENSUS BUREAU HAS DECIDED NOT TO WORK WITH ACORN ON GATHERING THIS INFORMATION. No Acorn worker should approach you saying he/she is with the Census Bureau.
    Eventually, Census workers may contact you by telephone, mail, or in person at home. However, the Census Bureau will not contact you by Email, so be on the lookout for Email scams impersonating the Census.
    Never click on a link or open any attachments in an Email that are supposedly from the U.S. Census Bureau.
